A R T I S T

S T A T E M E N T

With my art, I aim to evoke feelings of peace and tranquility within the spaces that house them. I hope to create timeless paintings, like the mountains themselves. I love creating my two bodies of work for mountains because I can explore the perfectionist side of myself with the mountain textured pieces, while stepping into my intuition with my abstract line work. Despite their simplicity, lines can be incredibly expressive. The way lines curve, intersect, or vary in thickness can communicate a wide range of emotions and moods. Creating the Northern Winds pieces brings out my inner child and how I picture it if it could be visualized as lines, I love attempting to capture the wind’s many emotions. Line art often relies on the viewer's imagination to fill in the details, stimulating a deeper level of engagement and personal interpretation. I intend to create a space for contemplation, introspection, and connection, enabling viewers to explore their own inner landscapes through the lens of my artwork. Sharing the deeper meanings of my work always feels quite vulnerable as if I’m reading from my journal. I use my artwork to process my emotions and experiences in a creative way. I hope that by sharing these deeper meanings that they resonate with the viewers own experiences.

Thank you for your endless support.

Warmly,

Morgan

MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST

Morgan Cupido, born and based in Calgary AB, Canada, draws inspiration from Earth's textures and colours. She uncovers hidden beauty by translating fine details into her paintings. Mountains are a recurring theme, capturing their grandeur and strength through textured landscapes and linework. Morgan's work blends tactile qualities, inviting viewers to experience the mountains' texture and form. Her art also explores fluid lines, finding harmony between mountains and expressive strokes. Her abstract linework pieces delve into the human experience as well as expressing the intangible movement of the wind. Morgan's art can be found globally in private collections and corporate spaces.
